Definition: This is the area or zone of influence around a magnet in which its magnetic forces are apparent. This field may be considered as being made of magnetic lines of force which has the following properties.
1.They travel from north to south, which is the path a north pole would take.
2.They attempt to take the shortest route possible but repel one another so that they in fact become curved.
3.They travel more easily through some materials, eg: metals, then through others.
